An Obsession with the Unique & Interesting<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I\u2019ve been Coolhunting for about half a century. My unique perspective is influenced by my unusual journey.\u00a0 What is Coolhunting? Read my story.<\/span><\/p>\n

My addiction to cool stuff started early. When I was in 1st grade<\/span> I owned a Have Gun Will Travel<\/em> T-shirt<\/a><\/span>. It had a picture of Paladin\u2019s card on it. The show was insanely popular at the time. That shirt was my most prized possession and an object of envy to all my friends. No one else had one. Everyone admired it. It set me apart and I reveled in the attention, strutting around proudly and wanting to wear it every day.<\/p>\n

That shirt sparked a life long obsession with searching for unique and interesting things to be able to surprise and delight people.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a child, I was a bit of an oddball. I not only liked playing with boys, boy toys and games, I wanted to <\/span>be<\/span><\/i> a boy and in 2nd grade tried to get the same buzz haircut as my best friend Rocky. That ended in tears with a perfectly hateful pixie cut.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I was into monsters, tikis, voodoo, shrunken heads, and obsessed with hot rods and motorcycles. I was goth before goth existed…sort of like a pre-teen beatnik member of The Addams Family, I guess. I liked the way I was but pretty much nobody else really got me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Discovering My Niche<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Eventually, I grew up, found other members of my tribe, and had my greatest revelation.<\/span><\/p>\n

People started telling me I was cool. I was shocked. Me? No. I was too strange. But the more I thought about it the more I wanted to believe it. I was different, unusual, quirky, but, yeah…<\/span><\/p>\n

I was cool.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s how I became a coolhunter.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always loved to shop. The thrill of discovering something really special, the careful evaluation of features, the price comparing to get the best deal…I thrive on it. People started to notice my unique style. They started asking for my advice. Then they asked me to take them shopping. As a result, I expanded my exploration even more.<\/span><\/p>\n

I Love NYC.\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Moving to NYC in 1984 was like entering a gateway to the wider world…of shopping. My favorite pastime for years was walking the city, exploring everything it had to offer. Walking the city is something I still love, but now I also do the same thing online.<\/p>\n

As an artist, I’ve been lucky enough to have cool jobs. I’ve worked for Marvel Comics and other comic book companies. I’ve worked in the music business doing art for artists as diverse as The Misfits, Clutch, Lady GaGa, and Puff Daddy. I’ve designed merchandise for major brands like Harley-Davidson and done illustrations for major magazines like Vibe. It was my job to stay on top of trends and be in touch with what was cool. New York City was the perfect place to do it and I was a club kid through most of the 80s and 90s, dancing the night away weekly and people watching at the same time. I still love to go dancing and see bands, but also keep up with music and trends online.<\/p>\n

Epic Objects<\/strong><\/a> is my way of bringing my favorite discoveries to you. It\u2019s my portal for unique curated content.<\/p>\n
